Hi, I'm Melissa
I'm artist and writer based in Cleveland, Ohio. I create art and write about the ups and downs of motherhood, with a passion for finding joy in the messiness of life. Before becoming a mom, I built my artistic foundation with an BA in English Literature from The Ohio State University, and then an MFA in Media Arts Production from University at Buffalo. I spent years immersed in creative industries, as a writer, video producer, and creative director, but there has been no greater influence on my work than the role of mother.
I specialize in documentary photography to capture the beauty of our true, authentic selves. Especially in the age of social media, my work seeks to shine light on the moments that aren't perfect, but compile the fabric of our lives. Your story is already beautiful, in its own unique state of becoming. We only need the opportunity to see it as such, and that's what drives the words, photos, & art that I create.
